The gaps in the Ferret Nation cage are small enough such that an averagely sized ferret cannot escape. However, small pets such as rats and chinchillas can easily pass through the 1-inch bar spacing.
Thus, the ½ inch spacing in the Critter Nation is ideal for smaller pets.
The space in the cage is adequate for ferrets to play with their toys. And because most of these pets love to climb, the height is just perfect.
Additionally, all three levels of these cages are adjustable. You can increase or decrease the height of each level as need be.
